About Us

inrimgJohn Williams began moving houses and other structures for the previous owner of Kosciusko House Movers in October of 1984. After several years of working with the company as foreman, he was able to buy the business in May of 1987.

The process of moving a Structure to its new location, placing it on the new foundation, and carefully leveling it, begins with attaining the necessary permits, coordinating the move with the proper utility line companies(such as telephone, cable, electricity etc.), traffic control, and a number of other preparations.

In addition to relocating structures for individuals and businesses, John has worked closely with the MDOT, Right of Way Division for over twenty years.  John bids on and buys buildings to be cleared form State Highway property.  After moving these building structures to another location, they  again serve as an economic asset for local and state government.

Kosciusko House Movers is a current member of the International Association of Structural Movers and has been since originally joining in 1989 where he has won five international awards for his work. They are also a member of the Texas Association of Structural Movers and has won awards through this Association as well.  John proudly served as president of the Mississippi House Movers Association during the years of 1992 – 2000.

Kosciusko House Movers played an active part in the stabilizing and reparation of structures after hurricane Ivan on the Gulf Coast.  In 2005, following hurricane Katrina, John moved a substantial part of his business to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  John worked closely with the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, helping to restore many historical homes and buildings.

John takes great pride in the things that he has been able to accomplish, and always looks forward to the next challenge. No two projects are exactly the same, each one has its own unique challenges and requires special expertise to plan and execute the project.
